If you can tell, this is the colour of our new office against out curtains and, of course, the bass. And this is the boat that I took from a watercolour done by Jon Muth, my favourite. The boy in the rain is what I hope to send to Maureen if I ever get my ass in gear. Her baby shower is on the 1st of June...so hopefully she'll have it by then.

Here are the three pastels I did for Josh's birthday. I like the orange and blue one, but the green one seems a little too abstract. I'll post some more tomorrow. Happy belated Mother's day, Mom.

I guess everyone has to try an onion at some point. This drawing displays the poor state of my onions, but I guess that's what happens when you buy a whole bag of them for 1.29. Hee hee.

Mom...a little preview of "A Student of Weather".

"Do you think," she asks so seriously that everyone looks at her, "do you think Maria will ever be happy again?"
"You mean as happy as she was before her lover died?"
Lover again, and she ducks her head. "Yes," rubbing her fingertip on the tabletop. "After the book ends."
"No," he says.
"No?"
"No. She'll have moments of happiness, but she'll never have sustained happiness."
"Oh."
And Norma Joyce sees them, moments of happiness like pearls lost in the corners of a dark room.

I just thought I'd provide the link for the Oil Pastel Society's list of artists page.

You have to take a look at the strawberries. Marvelous! The pastel is called juicy. Yum.
